Earth Letter - May 2024
Welcome to Deep Listening to Nature Autumn EarthLetter,
The regular practice of deeply listening to nature (DLTN) supports every part of our lives and the lives of our loved ones. DLTN soothes and calms nerves. DLTN inspires and enriches purpose in life. Let's become more advanced in approaching Nature and one another in a gentle, respectful manner that fosters communication and understanding.
Through the practice of DLTN I am being educated by Nature on how miraculous it means to be alive.
I hope you like the words of inspiration in this season's EarthLetter.
Wishing everyone peace & harmony from my home base camp by the wetlands of Mullumbimby Creek.

ANANGU VISIT
Rita Jingo, my dear soul sister from Uluru, swam for the very first time in her life in the ocean at Byron Bay this summer. Overcome with the experience she quietly wept. A natural part of my deep listening to nature commitment is to support the Anangu in whatever way I can. When you retreat with me to Uluru you have an opportunity to support the Anangu too by buying their traditional art, listening to their stories, and gifting things they or their families might need like clothes, toiletries, art supplies, football boots, linen and food.
To all who have come to Uluru with me on retreat over the years, and/or chipped in to help make the dream to bring Anangu grandmothers and their granddaughters to come visit here on the far east coast, where the dreaming began, I say Thank-you!
RECENT DLTN COOMERA GORGE TRIP
Absorbing all the colours of green surrounding me, drinking in the mineral charged water from the falls, slow walking in silence through thick cloud & walking down into places within which needed tenderness & care. This was a little of my recent experience with my group in sacred Woonoongoora - Lamington National Park. Binna Burra.
It is a natural part of the deep listening practice that unfelt emotions like pain and sorrow arise for almost all guests who walk mindfully for any length of time in Nature. As I descended down deep into Coomera Gorge on our last Deep Listening to Nature Retreat at Binna Burra, I sensed the contraction inside. A part of me shrinking from being battered from an inner critic.
Mostly seeing how hard a time I had given myself as a mother in the backdrop of some ridiculous model of perfection and extremely high expectations. Wow! What a great thing to realize how the inner critic can keep me from having my arms wide open to living life fully.
Nature hugged me tight as I cried, so I could hug myself tight too. A cool dip in the silky smooth freshwater at the top of Coomera Falls and out I popped renewed, refreshed, and so much lighter having let the weight of the guilt of the past, go! I loved witnessing all you fellow deep listeners in your natural state. Perfect in all the imperfections…
